Ian holds a master's degree in conservation biology from Antioch Graduate School in Keene, N.H., and wrote his master's thesis on endangered turtle species in Indonesia.
"Ian brings wonderful skills and experience to Mass Audubon's work on Cape Cod," said Sally Sharp Lehman, regional director for the southeast and islands region, "One of his primary goals is to engage the community and develop new programs and volunteer opportunities to expand activities at Ashumet, Long Pasture, Skunkett River, and Sampsons Island."
Ian is a passionate advocate for endangered species conservation and wetland protection, and has conducted wildlife surveys on rare species, including the threatened Blandings turtle. He was lead keeper at Zoo New England's children's zoo, and led interpretive and educational programs. Ian also volunteered at Earthwatch Institute in Australia and Manomet Center for Conservation Science. |

meeting will be held at Bourne Farm, 6 North Falmouth Hwy., North Falmouth, MA.

Please join us to welcome Ian Ives and listen to his talk on the "Owls of Cape Cod". North America’s owls are commonly thought of as secretive and nocturnal forest inhabitants. In fact, many owls can be observed, or at least detected during daylight hours, and with a little experience can be discovered relatively easily. Learn how to identify Cape Cod’s owl species, gain insights into their life histories and discover the art of owling!
Members of Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries, Inc., a local non-profit conservation organization, are welcome to attend as well as their guests and the public.
